The National Museum of Archaeology in Republic Street, Valletta displays an outstanding collection of work of art from Malta’s exclusive prehistoric era, preliminary with the initial appearance of man in the Ghar Dalam phase (5200 BC) and consecutively to the Tarxien phase (2500 BC). The collection gathers Red Skorba figurines, representations of animals, temple models. One of the particulars figurines is that of ‘Sleeping Lady’ from the Hypogeum and the Venus of Hager Qim.
